Play and sound

The density of this bow is rather interesting, providing good technical capabilities and easy spicatto. It is rather versatile and will therefore play most repertoires without problem. Finally, it has a very stable drive that has no weaknesses.

Who is Florian BAILLY?

Florian Bailly is a French bow maker who crossed the English Channel to begin his studies at theNewark School of Violin Making. He later learned traditional French bowmaking from master Noel Burke in Ireland.

His current work consists not only of restoration, maintenance and rehairing in a London workshop, but also of making his own bows in his Folkestone workshop.

He is very interested in innovative materials, in particular to compensate for the increasing scarcity of high-quality materials. He also wants to take his work further in terms of aesthetics, playability and durability.

Florian bows are highly personal and recognizable, drawing inspiration not only from the best of the French and English bow-making tradition, but also from the greatest bow-makers who have gone down in legend.
