Characteristics of a left-handed Passion-Tradition Maître violin

[pullquote align="center "]

A master is an artist or craftsman who dominates his art, thanks to the skills and knowledge he has accumulated over years of practice. His inspiration is expressed in masterpieces that are the pinnacle of his creation. Likewise, he is often committed to passing on and teaching his experience.

[/pullquote]

Passion-Tradition 's Master series is above all a collection of sumptuous violins. Inspired by the famous luthiers of Cremona, they carry with them the perpetuation of the gestures of yesteryear. Only the most experienced craftsmen in the workshop devote themselves to the exclusive creation of the finest pieces. They select the finest woods and carefully carve every curve of the instrument. The result is magnificent highly flamed maple planks accompanied by beautiful spruce tops. What's more, they dry naturally for many years before use(over 10 years).

The oil varnish is a superbly crafted copy of an antique. It is entirely applied and then worked by hand. Each finish is therefore unique and bears the personal touch of its creator.

The fittings(pegs, tailpiece, chinrest and knob), fingerboard and saddles are made of top-quality ebony.

The different models

A left-handed Passion-Tradition Maître violin can be built according to several models by illustrious luthiers, notably Italian:

  • Stradivari 1716 "Medici" : one of the finest models from the golden age of the famous Cremonese luthier.
  • Stradivari 1716 "Provigny" : another fine model by Stradivarius.
  • Guarneri 'del Gesù' 1741 "Vieuxtemps": one of the last violins made by the eminent luthier who has owned, among others, Yehudi Menuhin, Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman.
  • Guarneri 'del Gesù' 1743 "Il Cannone": the violin of the famous Italian virtuoso Niccolò Paganini.

These violins are only available in 4/4 size, but if you have a preference between a one-piece or two-piece back, please let me know.

Why choose the left-handed Passion-Tradition Maître violin?

This instrument is suitable for even the most demanding musicians, whether students, teachers or professional musicians. It can be adapted to a wide range of styles and repertoires, thanks to the different models I offer, and also to a perfectly adapted assembly.

That's why I invite you to contact me so that I can advise you perfectly on the choice of your instrument.

The advantages of this violin

  • First of all, it's a handcrafted instrument made entirely in the traditional spirit.
  • Then, the woods not only selected and dried for over fifteen years are very stable and healthy.
    • There's also this old spruce top that's been dried for over 200 years. This doesn't really offer any advantages over a fifteen-year drying period in terms of stability. However, it is a feature that adds a special charm.
  • What's more, I personally select each instrument to ensure that only the very best are kept. So you can really tell me all your requirements, and I'll find the model that suits you best.
  • Manufacturing at Kaiming in the Beijing region also has several advantages:
    • Providing excellent value for money, especially in such a meticulous workshop.
    • A know-how developed with various French workshops that shows a pronounced taste for aesthetics and artistic work.
    • Perfectly-worked thicknesses will not only allow violins to express their full potential, but will also have a very long life.
    • Ensuring perfect stability of the instrument due to the climate, which is quite similar to that of Europe.
  • Finishing, assembly and adjustments carried out in my workshop allow the instrument to express itself to the full. What's more, this also allows me to take into account your own choices.
  • Highly sought-after and renowned, this violin will also retain its value over time.

To give you an idea of the work I do on my violins, here is an article that explains it all:

Personalization

Choosing a violin is a special, individual, almost intimate matter. That's why I propose to take the personalization of your instrument as far as possible, so that it suits and resembles you.

Whether it's purely aesthetic or you're looking for a particular accessory, don't hesitate to ask me exactly what you need. If you don't have an idea, let me advise you so that together we can find what's best for you.

Don't hesitate to ask, because although some customizations cost money, some are free of charge.

Example of customization :

  • Types of waves on maple
  • One-piece or two-piece backgrounds
  • Accessories in boxwood, ebony, other exotic or local woods with varying degrees of detail
  • Chin strap type
  • Ropes to suit your needs
  • Sound settings to suit your preferences
  • Creating ornaments using paint or gold leaf
  • Tell me about your wishes, and I'll try to find a solution to make them come true.

Identification and certification

All Maison Kaiming instruments are identified to guarantee their provenance. That's why each instrument has a serial number, allowing perfect traceability. What's more, I'll provide you with a certificate of authenticity that not only guarantees its provenance, but also attests to its value to insurers.

In addition, the instruments I offer have been specially selected, prepared and assembled by me. This is also why they bear my trademark.
