Features of a Kaiming violin
A Kaiming violin from the special series is not only entirely handcrafted, it is also of the highest quality. Each instrument is a unique piece, entirely hand-crafted and varnished in the European tradition. It's no coincidence that the craftsmen in this workshop learned their skills in contact with various French workshops.
This special series is unique in that it features soundboards that have been dried for over 200 years. That's why these violins are firmly anchored in the past. It's as if you're already playing a museum piece that dates back centuries.
As for the wood, the back, sides and neck are made of maple, which reveals superb waves. Each plank of wood dries naturally for over 15 years. As a result, they are very stable and provide the perfect foundation for the manufacture of top-quality musical instruments. What's more, they'll last for years to come.
The oil varnish is particularly remarkable. It is made in a convincing antique-copy style, and each instrument has its own personality. Very soft, it leaves the instrument free to express its full tone and power.
The fingerboard and accessories such as pegs, chin rests and knobs are made from top-quality ebony. They are perfectly dried and offer great stability over time.

Why choose this violin?
This instrument is suitable for even the most demanding musicians, whether students, teachers or professional musicians. It can be adapted to a wide range of styles and repertoires, thanks to the different models I offer, and also to a perfectly adapted assembly.
That's why I invite you to contact me so that I can advise you perfectly on the choice of your instrument.
The advantages of this violin
- First of all, it's a handcrafted instrument made entirely in the traditional spirit.
- Then, the woods not only selected and dried for over fifteen years are very stable and healthy.
- There's also this old spruce top that's been dried for over 200 years. This doesn't really offer any advantages over fifteen years' drying in terms of stability. However, it is a feature that adds a special charm.
- What's more, I personally select each instrument to ensure that only the very best are kept. So you can really tell me all your requirements, and I'll find the model that suits you best.
- Manufacturing at Kaiming in the Beijing region also has several advantages:
- Providing excellent value for money, especially in such a meticulous workshop.
- A know-how developed with various French workshops that shows a pronounced taste for aesthetics and artistic work.
- Perfectly-worked thicknesses will not only allow violins to express their full potential, but will also have a very long life.
- Ensuring perfect stability of the instrument due to the climate, which is quite similar to that of Europe.
- Finishing, assembly and adjustments carried out in my workshop allow the instrument to express its full potential. What's more, this also allows me to take into account your own choices.
- Highly sought-after and renowned, this violin will also retain its value over time.

Personalization
Choosing a violin is a special, individual, almost intimate matter. That's why I propose to take the personalization of your instrument as far as possible, so that it suits and resembles you.

Don't hesitate to ask, because although some customizations cost money, some are free of charge.
Example of customization :
- Types of waves on maple
- One-piece or two-piece backgrounds
- Accessories in boxwood, ebony, other exotic or local woods with varying degrees of detail
- Chin strap type
- Ropes to suit your needs
- Sound settings to suit your preferences
- Creating ornaments using paint or gold leaf
- Tell me about your wishes, and I'll try to find a solution to make them come true.
Identification and certification
All Maison Kaiming instruments are identified to prevent counterfeiting. That's why each instrument has its own serial number, enabling it to be perfectly traceable. What's more, I'll provide you with a certificate of authenticity that not only guarantees its provenance, but also attests to its value.
In addition, the instruments I offer have been specially selected, prepared and assembled by me. This is also why they bear my trademark.
Luthier's opinion on a Kaiming violin
The reason I have chosen to offer this type of violin in my store is really to be able to offer an instrument that has all the finesse and personality of handcrafted violin making. But all at a price that's still affordable compared with real art lutherie.
What I particularly like is that each piece is unique, each shape and finish a new interpretation of the illustrious models from which they originate. This allows me to adapt perfectly to the demands and tastes of each musician. What's more, I really enjoy working on these instruments, which have enough potential to allow me to express the expertise of my craft without any restraint.
