Description
As the name implies, a Guillaume KESSLER violin bow is the result of my own production. It is first and foremost a handcrafted bow made in the traditional French style. The very essence of an instrument(yes, a bow is an instrument) of this type is to fully meet your most demanding needs as a violinist.

Guillaume KESSLER violin bow
First, I choose a pernambuco stick for its mechanical and tonal qualities. These are then crafted entirely in the traditional French manner. The sculpture models are inspired by the great master bow makers of the early 20th century. For it is this elegance that has, in my opinion, raised French know-how to the highest level of recognition.
- First, the bow fittings are solid silver.
- The bow weighs between 60g and 61g.
- It also comes with either a mammoth ivory or metal head plate to match the trim.
- The mechanism is fitted with a French screw and bronze eyelet to maximize longevity.
- The wick is made of top-quality horsehair from the steppes of Asia.
- Of course, Coruss synthetic horsehair can also be fitted on request.
- Then a comfortable leather thumbrest covers the wand.
- Each bow comes with a certificate of origin and authenticity.

Characteristics of pernambuco
After careful selection, I identify each stick in terms of mechanics and sound:
- Firstly, they can be mechanically rigid, balanced or flexible.
- Then they reveal themselves acoustically: clear, balanced or timbred.
This knowledge of the wood allows us to know exactly what type of musician it will suit before planing it.
Choice of camber
Then there are several camber choices that help orient the bow's behavior and personality:
- To begin with, the classic Tourte-inspired camber. It offers incredibly pleasant legato and a very rounded sound.
- Then there's the modern camber, inspired by Sartory bows. Not only does it provide bounce and liveliness with enormous response, but also a very clean attack.
How to choose your Guillaume KESSLER violin bow?
The best way to choose your bow is to come and talk to me directly. We can discuss your playing and sound needs together. I'll then be able to guide you towards the solution I feel is best for you.
I also invite you to come to the workshop and try out different bows. This will enable you to put concrete sensations to the words or feelings you're experiencing.
