Description

If you'd like to experience the real life of a workshop, why not take part in a week-long intensive lutherie workshop? Not only will you make your own instrument, with my guidance throughout the process, but you'll also be able to follow its construction as it unfolds.

Intensive violin making course

Our intensive violin-making courses are designed to immerse you totally in the workshop while you build your own instrument. At the end of these hours of work, you'll leave with your very own violin.

Times and days

There are two options available, from Monday to Friday:

• First of all, the 35-hour week to relax and enjoy a bit of sightseeing in Strasbourg.
• If you're a hard worker, you can opt for the 45-hour package, which will take you even further.

Making your own violin

Intensive violin making courses include well-defined modules that can be completed over a week. Even a complete beginner with 35 hours can keep up the pace.

• Joint bar structure
• Soundboard
• Background
• Handle and scroll
• Assembly
• Varnishing and mounting

As you can see, it will take about 6 weeks to complete a violin.

Tools and materials

Although you're encouraged to bring your own tools so you can learn how to use them, you can also use those available on site. There will, however, be an additional charge.

As for materials, you're welcome to bring your own. However, I can supply what you need, whatever the raw material.
